Assembly Repair Technician

The Assembly Repair Technician is responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing appliances at various stages of the assembly process. The technician will work closely with the production and quality control teams to ensure that products meet safety, quality, and functionality standards before reaching the customer. The role requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. 

ESSENTIAL JOB RESULTS:

Assembly and Repair:

• Perform assembly of appliance components according to blueprints and product specifications.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with appliances that may arise during assembly.
• Repair or replace malfunctioning components, ensuring proper functionality.
• Test finished appliances to confirm repairs have resolved issues and meet performance standards.

Inspection and Quality Control:

• Inspect parts and finished products for defects, damages, or other issues before and after repairs.
• Use diagnostic tools and equipment to test appliances and ensure quality standards are met.
• Maintain detailed records of repairs, issues found, and parts used for inventory and quality tracking.

Maintenance and Safety:

• Ensure all repair work complies with safety regulations and company policies.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including tools and equipment.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and minor repairs on machinery and equipment used during the assembly process.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with production teams to address assembly line issues that affect product quality.
• Communicate effectively with other departments, such as engineering and quality control, to resolve recurring problems.
• Participate in meetings to discuss production goals, product improvements, and other operational matters.

Continuous Improvement:

• Suggest and implement improvements to assembly and repair processes to increase efficiency and product quality.
• Stay updated with the latest repair techniques, industry standards, and best practices.

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or training in appliance repair or related fields preferred.
• Proven experience in assembly, repair, or maintenance in an appliance manufacturing or similar environment.
• Critical thinking skills needed to be successful, creative problem solver, strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
• Ability to maintain a sense of urgency, initiative, and commitment to work assignments.
• Dependable and timely.
• understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, and ability to troubleshoot both.
• Familiarity with diagnostic tools, multimeters, and hand/power tools.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings, blueprints, and manuals.
