Asset Manager (Eagle Ford)

Job Description - Asset Manager (Eagle Ford)

Highlights

  • Senior technical leadership role with ownership of the performance and strategy of operated and non-operated oil and gas assets.
  • Opportunity to lead full-cycle asset planning, reservoir strategy, capital allocation, forecasting, and performance optimization.
  • Highly visible position partnering across engineering, geoscience, operations, finance, and senior leadership.
  • Direct Eagle Ford experience is required, along with a strong reservoir engineering background.

Our Client

Our client is a privately held investment organization with a significant portfolio of energy and real asset investments. The firm takes an integrated, analytical approach to managing its assets and brings technical, operational, financial, and investment expertise together internally. This position offers the opportunity to work in an entrepreneurial environment where technical leaders have meaningful influence over asset strategy and investment decisions.

The Role

The Asset Manager will lead the technical and economic performance of a portfolio of operated and non-operated assets. This individual will combine deep reservoir engineering expertise with commercial judgment and cross-functional leadership to maximize asset value, guide capital decisions, and establish long-term asset strategy.

  • Own full-cycle asset planning, budgeting, forecasting, reserves, and performance optimization while developing short- and long-term strategies to maximize asset value.
  • Lead reservoir evaluation, decline curve analysis, reserves estimation, type curve development, and technical modeling to support investment and field planning decisions.
  • Integrate subsurface, drilling, completions, production, and economic data to guide well spacing, landing-zone, completion, and capital-allocation decisions.
  • Monitor asset and well performance and identify opportunities to improve production, recovery, operating efficiency, and capital returns.
  • Own asset-level CAPEX and OPEX planning, financial performance tracking, forecasting, and economic evaluation of development, acquisition, and divestiture opportunities.
  • Lead a multidisciplinary asset team and coordinate closely with geoscience, drilling, completions, production, operations, commercial, and financial stakeholders.
  • Serve as a key technical and strategic resource to senior leadership, presenting asset performance, risks, opportunities, and recommendations to support investment decisions.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship while supporting partner, regulatory, and other external stakeholder interactions as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline required.
  • 10+ years of oil and gas experience with significant reservoir engineering responsibility and demonstrated asset management or technical leadership experience.
  • Direct Eagle Ford shale experience required, including strong knowledge of unconventional reservoir characterization, reserves, horizontal development, and asset optimization.
