Job Description - Assistant Cook

Here’s what you’ll be doing:



  • Assists by following recipes for all meals and ensures that consistency and accurate quantities are used during food preparation.

  • Assists the Head Cook with food and kitchen supply inventory.

  • Ensures kitchen areas are clean and sanitized at scheduled frequencies.

  • Operates a “Point of Sale” (POS) system, if necessary.


What you’ll need to be successful:



  • Must have Wisconsin food handlers’ course and “Serve Safe” certification or obtain within 90-days of hire.

  • Availability to work afternoons, early evenings and weekends, if necessary

  • Must have a valid, clean driver’s license and be and be eligible for coverage under the Tribe’s insurance

  • Must successfully pass all applicable background checks and drug screens

  •  FCP complies with all CDC vaccine and testing recommendations for healthcare professionals. Proof of immunizations is required and immunizations/testing provided upon hire for individuals working at the Caring Place kitchen.


Preferred qualifications:



  •  High School Diploma or GED

  • Experience cooking in a commercial kitchen environment preferred
