General Summary: |
Review purchase orders, payment authorizations and expenditures for compliance with county policies and procedures; prepare monthly and periodic financial reports as required; review and monitor disbursements at all levels; assist in the development of grant budgets; and, monitor and examine fee office revenues. |
Essential Duties: |
Responsible for reviewing purchase orders and related vendor invoices and receiving reports, as well as payment authorizations and expenditures;
Monitor accuracy of expenditures for proper account distribution, documentation, accuracy, compliance with state statutes and county purchasing policies and procedures;
Responsible for reviewing departmental authorization for payroll distribution; review related employee time sheets, review departmental control sheets;
Examines personnel action forms, and reviews of withholdings for proper authorization;
Responsible for auditing contractual arrangements approved by the commissioners' court;
Responsible for reviewing internal control procedures being practiced by the fee offices to insure compliance with state statutes and county policy;
Responsible for the performance of audits of internal controls for the various fee offices to include revenues and expenditures; Responsible for accounting and reporting of grants;
Assists in the preparation and monitoring of various grant budgets;
Respond to requests and questions from department heads, vendors, and external auditors regarding expenditures;
Responsible for review of statutory responsibilities for the Auditor’s Office and fee offices, to include implementation of changes and compliance. |
