Job Description - Assistant Director of Facilities


Position Summary:

 

The Assistant Director of Facilities provides direct support and assistance to the Director of Facilities and Maintenance. Under the direction of the DFM, the Assistant Director of Facilities will provide direction to appropriate operations’ staff members and perform various projects and tasks as delegated. This role interacts with a broad range of faculty, staff, and administrators to enable the effective planning, scheduling and use of St. Xavier campus facilities including meeting rooms, classrooms and athletic facilities, and other specialized assets. The ADF oversees the hiring and day-to-day management of custodial staff to ensure campus facilities are clean, comfortable, and safe for students, teaching faculty, professional administrative staff, and authorized visitors to school property.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 


  • Provide overall management and oversight of custodial and other assigned operations’ staff to ensure availability of campus facilities for daytime, evening, weekday, and weekend events

  • Manage the annual, monthly, and daily scheduling and use of rooms/facilities

  • Work with HR and custodial team leads to recruit, onboard and retain custodial staff members

  • Oversee Switchboard/Receiving Dock Operations

  • Oversee all Student Workers with communication and follow up with all paperwork

  • Facilitate all Van Driver Certifications with the State of Ohio

  • Coordinate all rental of space in the school

  • Perform special projects and other duties as required


 

Skills and Other Required Competencies:

 


  • Expert people interaction and communication skills

  • Ability to multi-task and execute a variety of projects, tasks, and processes at the same time

  • Will be required to quickly learn, utilize, and improve St. Xavier operations’ office processes

  • Must have practical problem-solving skills and lean toward action/doing/accomplishing

  • Competent with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)

  • Strong organization skills for guiding self and others


 

Education, Experience, and Qualifications:


  • At least 5 years of people management experience

  • Minimum of 5 years running medium-to-large school or business support operations
