Job Description
The Assistant Fitness Center Program Manager supports the Fitness Center Manager in operating and managing the FDIC fitness centers and acts on behalf of the FCM during the FCM’s absence. The AFCM also serves as team leader for exercise-class instruction, course development, and scheduling and provides administrative, programming, fitness-instruction, and member-support services.
Required Qualifications
Candidate must have:
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited university in:
- Health Science
- Biology
- Anatomy
- Physical Fitness
- Certification from at least one of the following:
- Minimum two years of professional experience in the fitness and health industry
- At least one year of assistant-management or program-management experience
- Personal Training Certification from an accepted organization identified in SOW Section 4.1
- CPR/First Aid/AED certification
Preferred certifications include:
- Certified Personal Trainer
- Health Fitness Specialist
- Clinical Exercise Physiologist
Primary Duties
The Assistant Program Manager will:
- Assist with fitness-center operations and management
- Perform assigned project-management duties
- Act on behalf of the Program Manager when necessary
- Serve as Team Leader for exercise-class instruction, course development, and scheduling
- Recruit members and process membership applications
- Maintain confidential records
- Provide personal training and fitness instruction
- Provide customer service
- Coordinate with FDIC health units and other health/fitness teams
- Provide administrative support to fitness-center staff and operations
- Coordinate promotions, contests, and prizes
- Coordinate monthly reports, newsletters, and other deliverables
- Remain current on fitness-industry trends and apply them to improve operations
Position is contingent upon contract award.
