Job Description - Assistant Food & Beverage Director

Description

 

DragonRidge Country Club is seeking an experienced, driven, and service-focused Assistant Food & Beverage Director to support and enhance our high-performing F&B team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring an exceptional dining and beverage experience for our members and guests, while also contributing to the growth, training, and professional development of our service staff.

This is a hands-on leadership role that requires passion for hospitality, a deep understanding of food and beverage operations, and a talent for wine and spirits programming. The ideal candidate will be dynamic, organized, proactive, and committed to excellence in both service and leadership.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

Member & Guest Experience

  • Deliver and maintain elevated member service standards throughout all F&B outlets
  • Engage with members daily to create memorable experiences and personalized service
  • Respond to member feedback promptly, constructively, and professionally
  • Participate in the execution of themed dinners, wine tastings, and social events

Wine & Beverage Program Leadership

  • Oversee day-to-day wine locker program operations and communications
  • Support wine list curation, cellar inventory, and seasonal selections
  • Partner with sommeliers, distributors, and winemakers to host exclusive tastings and pairings
  • Provide continued education to staff in wine, spirits, beer, and craft cocktails

Team Development & Training

  • Mentor a diverse F&B team through coaching, regular training sessions, and clear performance expectations
  • Onboard new staff and conduct ongoing service and product training to ensure consistency
  • Promote a culture of accountability, hospitality, and team collaboration
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings to review menu items, specials, and service points

Operations, Standards, & Efficiency

  • Support all aspects of daily operations in the bar, restaurant, cafe, and banquet/event areas
  • Ensure cleanliness, organization, and adherence to safety and health codes
  • Work closely with culinary leadership to coordinate service timing and quality
  • Maintain an active presence on the floor to guide and support staff in real time

Financial & Inventory Management

  • Assist in managing beverage cost controls and operational budgets
  • Monitor inventory levels, conduct monthly inventories, and manage par levels
  • Work with vendors on purchasing, negotiating pricing, and maintaining quality
  • Analyze sales trends to help guide pricing strategy and item performance

Event & Banquet Support

  • Coordinate with the Events and Banquets team to execute flawless private functions, weddings, member events, and golf tournaments
  • Review and refine banquet event orders (BEOs) to ensure accuracy and service alignment
  • Assist with setup, execution, and breakdown of events, as needed

Requirements

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of food and beverage leadership experience in a high-end club, resort, or fine dining setting
  • Deep knowledge of wine, beer, and spirits, including food pairing and service standards
  • Proven track record of leading, motivating, and developing service teams
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in POS and inventory systems; Clubessential experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays, and special events as needed
  • Sommelier certification or WSET Level 2+ is a plus
