The Hyatt Regency Coralville Hotel & Conference Center is seeking a service-driven Assistant Front Office Manager to help lead our Front Office team. This hands-on leadership role is ideal for someone who enjoys developing people, solving problems in the moment, and creating a welcoming experience for every guest from arrival through departure.
Working closely with the Front Office Manager, this position supports the day-to-day operation of the Front Office, provides coaching and direction to associates, responds to guest needs, and helps ensure service, productivity, safety, and operational standards are consistently met.

As Assistant Front Office Manager, you will be a visible, hands-on leader who supports both our guests and our Front Office associates while helping keep daily operations running smoothly.
Responsibilities include:
· Support the Front Office Manager in overseeing daily Front Office operations and maintaining high standards of guest service.
· Lead, coach, motivate, and support Front Office associates, including Front Desk, Night Audit, Bell, Parking, PBX, Concierge, and other guest services functions as needed.
· Assist with staffing, scheduling, training, performance feedback, and associate development.
· Create a positive, professional team environment built on clear communication, accountability, and service.
· Actively engage with guests, anticipate needs, and resolve concerns promptly, professionally, and within company guidelines.
· Assist with guest check-in and check-out, group arrivals, room assignments, special requests, and other Front Office functions during peak periods.
· Communicate guest needs and operational information effectively across departments to ensure a seamless guest experience.
· Organize and lead pre-shift meetings and participate in departmental and hotel leadership meetings as assigned.
· Monitor Front Office service and productivity standards and recommend improvements that positively impact guest and associate satisfaction.
· Support implementation of hotel and corporate programs, promotions, procedures, and service initiatives.
· Maintain appropriate cash-handling and house-bank controls and support accurate Front Office transactions.
· Conduct guest-floor or room inspections as needed and help ensure public-facing areas meet hotel standards.
· Participate in the Manager on Duty program and provide calm, decisive leadership during guest issues, operational disruptions, or emergency situations.
· Understand and actively support hotel safety, security, emergency action, loss prevention, and environmental procedures.
· Maintain a professional appearance and ensure appropriate standards of conduct, dress, hygiene, and appearance are followed by the team.
· Build strong working relationships with associates and leaders throughout the hotel.
· Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
We’re looking for a confident, approachable leader who enjoys being present in the operation, developing a team, and turning challenges into positive guest experiences.
· One to three years of hospitality supervisory or management experience preferred; Front Office experience strongly preferred.
· Strong guest-service mindset with the ability to handle difficult situations with patience, tact, diplomacy, and sound judgment.
· Demonstrated leadership, coaching, organization, and follow-through.
· Clear verbal and written communication skills with the ability to provide direction and feedback effectively.
· Ability to prioritize, multitask, adapt to changing business needs, and remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
· Working knowledge of hotel registration, reservations, and related computer systems; ability to learn new systems quickly.
· Comfort working with operational and financial information and using data to support sound decisions.
· Ability to build positive relationships across departments and contribute to a collaborative leadership team.
· Ability to work a primarily day-shift schedule while remaining flexible based on hotel operations, including occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays.
