The Department of Nutrition and Health Sciences welcomes applicants for Assistant or Associate Clinical Lecturer in Nutrition and Dietetics.What you'll do and what you will bring:
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include teaching courses for our ACEND-accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics BS, teaching undergraduate students from other majors in our courses that are part of the university core curriculum, and/or teaching online courses in our ACEND-accredited graduate Dietetic Internship/Master of Science Nutrition and Dietetics program. This faculty member will also serve as Program Director of the Dietetic Internship, overseeing planning and data collection for ACEND accreditation and working with preceptors to assess the progress of Dietetic Interns. Other duties may include service to the university, community, and profession and contributions to student recruitment activities.
Rank will be at the Assistant or Associate Clinical Lecturer level. For candidates who hold a doctorate in a related area, appointment can be considered at the Assistant or Associate Clinical Professor rank. Faculty are expected to be regularly present on campus to engage with students, colleagues, and community.
Minimum Qualifications for Assistant Clinical Lecturer
1. Master’s degree or higher in Nutrition, Dietetics, Nutrition Science, or other Nutrition-related discipline.
2. At least three years of experience as a Registered Dietitian by the start date of employment.
3. At least two semesters of university teaching or other relevant teaching experience by the start date of employment, gained concurrently or at any time.
4. Effective written communication skills.
5. Effective oral communication skills.
6. Ability to work cooperatively and congenially with colleagues.
Preferred Qualifications for Assistant Clinical Lecturer:
1. More than two semesters of university teaching experience.
2. Clinical experience as a Registered Dietitian.
3. Familiarity with Canvas or another Learning Management System.
4. Experience in curriculum development.
5. Experience in course assessment.
Minimum Qualifications for Associate Clinical Lecturer:
1. Master’s degree or higher in Nutrition, Dietetics, Nutrition Science, or other Nutrition-related discipline.
2. At least three years of experience as a Registered Dietitian by the start date of employment.
3. At least six years of university teaching experience, gained concurrently or at any time.
4. Effective written communication skills.
5. Effective oral communication skills.
6. Ability to work cooperatively and congenially with colleagues.
Preferred Qualifications for Associate Clinical Lecturer:
1. Clinical experience as a Registered Dietitian.
2. Experience with academic program accreditation, specifically ACEND.
3. Familiarity with Canvas or another Learning Management System.
4. Experience in curriculum development.
5. Experience in course assessment.
