Are you the person everyone comes to when something needs to get done?
The one who can calm down a crazy day, help a teammate figure something out, jump into a busy treatment area, solve a problem, and somehow still remember that someone has a birthday coming up?
Yep. We might be looking for you.
Furever Family Veterinary Care Center is looking for a full-time Assistant Practice Manager who loves veterinary medicine, enjoys working with people, and gets genuine satisfaction from making a great team even better.
We are a Fear Free Certified, full-service small animal hospital in East Moline, Illinois, caring for dogs and cats and the people who love them.
We take our medicine seriously—but we also believe work should be a place where people feel supported, appreciated, challenged, and occasionally laugh way too hard at something that absolutely wasn't that funny.
A little bit of everything!
You'll work closely with our Practice Manager and Medical Director to keep the hospital moving forward, support our team, and help create an environment where people can do their best work.
This is a hands-on leadership role, so you won't be sitting in an office all day wondering what the heck is happening out there.
You'll be part leader, part problem-solver, part coach, part organizer—and yes, sometimes part professional cat wrangler.
Partner with the Practice Manager and Medical Director to support our team
Help create a workplace where people feel respected, valued, and supported
Help onboard and train new team members
Participate in hiring and team development
Support employee check-ins, reviews, coaching, and accountability
Help identify opportunities for assistants and technicians to learn and grow
Participate in weekly leadership meetings and follow through on projects
Help make sure information flows both from leadership to the team and from the team back to leadership
Lead by example and live out our core values every day
Because someone has to keep all the plates spinning!
You may help with:
Staff scheduling
Payroll processing
Purchasing and inventory
Equipment and building maintenance
Hospital projects and process improvements
Employee celebrations and recognition
Holidays, birthdays, and team events
Whatever else pops up that needs a good leader to step in and help
We're not looking for a superhero.
We're looking for a good human who happens to be really good at veterinary medicine and leadership.
You might be our person if you:
Lead with kindness.
You understand that being a leader doesn't mean having all the answers—or being the loudest person in the room.
Take ownership.
You see a problem and think, “How can I help fix this?” instead of “Whose job is that?”
Know how to have hard conversations.
You can hold people accountable while still treating them with dignity and respect.
Love helping people grow.
Teaching, coaching, encouraging, and watching someone gain confidence is rewarding to you.
Can roll with the punches.
Because veterinary medicine. Enough said.
Know how to listen.
You understand that sometimes the best leadership move is to stop talking and hear what your team is actually telling you.
Can see the big picture.
You can jump into a busy treatment area when needed while also thinking about staffing, inventory, finances, processes, and the future of the hospital.
And most importantly...
You want to build a great team—not just manage one.
3+ years of veterinary experience preferred
1+ year of leadership and/or training experience
Experience with PIMS and reference laboratories
Strong communication and organizational skills
Good judgment and the ability to prioritize in a busy hospital
Comfort giving and receiving feedback
A willingness to jump in and help wherever you're needed
A team-first mindset
A sense of humor is strongly encouraged.
We're interested in your veterinary experience, leadership ability, willingness to learn, and the kind of teammate you are.
Because work is a pretty big part of life.
We want people to have a place where they can grow, contribute, laugh, learn, and feel like they matter.
As part of the Suveto network, you'll have the resources and support of a larger veterinary organization while being part of a local hospital team where your contributions can make a real difference.
Paid time off
Paid holidays
Medical, dental, and vision insurance
401(k) with a true match up to 4%
Employee pet care discounts
VSOP® — Suveto's Veterinary Stock Ownership Plan, provided at no cost to eligible full-time hospital team members
If you're ready for a leadership role where you can use your veterinary skills, develop your leadership skills, support an amazing team, and make a difference every day, we'd love to hear from you.
Come be part of the Furever Family.
