Job Description - Assistant Regional Coordinator

The West Michigan Regional Medical Consortium (WMRMC) is a non-profit 501c3 organization that serves as the fiduciary for Regions 5, 6 and 7 Healthcare Coalitions, Region 6 Homeland Security Grant Program, and the Medical Control Authority for Muskegon County, Michigan. We work closely with the state and other Medical Control Authorities (MCAs) to regulate and oversee emergency medical services (EMS) through implementing and monitoring protocols and improving patient care. Our goal has always been to provide the best medical support to our community through improving our EMS services and driving change. We are a small but mighty group of individuals who value privacy and integrity to effectively serve our community and improve EMS standards with each project and protocol we take on.

We are seeking a Region 7 Assistant Regional Coordinator who will support the Regional Coordinator with the coordination of the Regional Healthcare Coalition program and continued development of the program. Working out of the Gaylord, MI location, the Assistant Regional Coordinator will also be responsible for providing and coordinating project support and education for the regional healthcare coalition and associated programs to identify the effectiveness of and any gaps or needs associated with the response systems.

 

What you’ll do:

  • In collaboration with the Regional Coordinator, oversee the design, development, organization, and teaching of grant-funded education programs throughout the region
  • Develop education guidelines and plan for each grant cycle
  • Continue to seek the improvement and effectiveness of the education and training programs and ensure instructors are in compliance with requirements of the courses being taught
  • Coordinate all training programs and exercises sponsored or participated in by the region, as well as measure and analyze the effectiveness of the programs
  • Establish a liaison relationship with the local, regional and state emergency management and public health system to coordinate activities and better optimize education opportunities
  • Attend regional coalition and regional leaderships meetings when needed and represent the Regional Coordinator in their absence
  • Maintain working knowledge of current trends and developments in the field
  • Foster team building between partner agencies by maintaining open direct communication and acting as a team player
  • Be prepared 24/7 to respond to any disaster or potential disaster situation in Region 7, or other Michigan regions

 

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from accredited institution preferred
  • 2+ years of healthcare or emergency management experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Experience with public speaking and instruction preferred
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
