SUMMARY  


Responsible for maximum customer satisfaction by ensuring effective and proper vehicle repairs and maintenance of all shop equipment in order to run an efficient and profitable service department.  Ensures customer satisfaction by ensuring vehicle repairs are done properly, quickly and efficiently. Ensures the safe, efficient and profitable operation of the service department by overseeing practical function of the service department.    


  


Administrative Duties include the following:  


  



  • Assist Advisors and Service Manager with customer concerns, test driving with customers, advising customer on technical issues, service lane diagnosis all to help direct workflow.  

  •  Check to ensure that all Multi-Point Inspection Sheets are filled out fully and correctly.  

  •  Monitoring all repairs to ensure all are documented correctly on the repair orders.   

  •  Responsible for monitoring all recall information and carrying out any action needed.  

  •  Understand and comply with all manufacturer warranty and policy procedures.   

  •  Assist Service Manager in training of all Technicians, make sure that all self-studies are completed in a timely manner.  

  •  Responsible for checking on all repair orders that are carried over and parts that arrive for them the next morning.   

  •  Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulation, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-know, etc.  

  •  Assures the technicians refer to service history, inspects vehicle, and recommends additional needed service.   


 


 


QUALITY CARE DUTIES include the following:  


  



  • Ensuring shop cleanliness and organization.

  • Maintain/inspect Fixed Right First Time Metric.

  • Monitor express service times to ensure quality  


  


  


 


GENERAL CARE DUTIES include the following:  


  



  • Comeback vehicles should always be treated as a HIGH priority and logged in the Comeback Report.  

  • Reports any and all safety issues immediately to management  

  • Monitor shop and service parking condition daily and report any problems or concerns.  

  • Ensure proper care, storage, and inventory of all special tools, and repair or replace as needed.   

  • Keeps abreast of all new tools and equipment available and recommends purchase when needed.  

  • Operate all tools and equipment in a safe manner.  

  • Ensure that all Technicians use proper eye, hand, and body protection when using products that require protection.  

  • Ensures that vehicles are parked in assigned areas, windows up, locked, keys are marked properly, and put in proper place.  

  • Responsible for the proper and secure closing of the shop every evening

  • Promote utilization of the resources of ETMs, and Service Manuals as needed to keep Technicians on track.   

  • Responsible for the delivery of parts to technicians when shop load warrants that they continue to work on customer’s vehicles.  

  • Be a liaison between the Service Advisors, customers and the Technicians to facilitate smoother running shop.  

  • When needed, communicate with Service Advisors when a Technician seizes an opportunity for an up sale.  

  • Help to create an atmosphere of mutual respect and a positive work environment.   

  • Good personal hygiene and a professional appearance is a must when greeting and working with customers. This helps to build a favorable working relationship between the customer and the dealership.
