Position Brief – Assistant Structural Superintendent

Position Seeking a hands-on, driven Assistant Structural Superintendent to assist in the day-to-day construction activities of subcontractors and field personnel. Assist with all concrete, windows, waterproofing, metal and stair aspects of the project. Ensure work stays on schedule, conforms to specifications, and the site is presentable.
Responsibilities
You will work with the on-site team of superintendents.
You are responsible for quality control of all trades.
You will coordinate, schedule and monitor work from the beginning of excavation through completion and commissioning of equipment. Be prepared to also assist with rough and finish completion as needed.
Review structural shop drawings to identify possible conflicts
Attend and co-chair weekly coordination meetings with all trades
Enforce onsite safety programs
You will work with governing officials to inspect and approve work.
Collaborate with Architect and Subcontractors to process RFI’s
Maintain expediting and daily logs
Craft and complete punch list to ensure all work is completed in accordance with contract documents and that buyer changes are incorporated into building according to schedule
Monitor equipment startups, commissioning and “as-built” drawings for all MEP systems
Experience
Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in Structural and MEP trades
Four-year college degree preferred
Constructed at least a $25M project start to finish
Mid- to high-rise fast-track residential construction experience required
Skills
General knowledge of building and mechanical codes, as well as all structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and low voltage systems
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Project
Detailed and organized
Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide direction and guidance to skilled trades workers
