JOB TITLE: Assistant Supply Clerk

Bargaining Unit Status: Yes

FULL-TIME (hours per week: 40) 7:00 AM- 3:30PM

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: High School. Diploma or GED is required.  Technical training in areas related to job functions is desired.

EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 3 or more years’ experience worked as a warehouse and or a material control technician preferably in a comparable setting in the area(s) of supply budget management.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and general computer operation is required.
  • Working knowledge with material movement equipment such as packet jack, a powered industrial truck and a motorized pallet jack.
  • Strong working knowledge of disability management and awareness.
  • Working knowledge and demonstrated competency in the operation of inventory and financial reporting.
  • Additional Preferred Qualifications:  Experience with supply budget management.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be authorized for coverage under agency insurance if operating agency vehicle, have good driving record, valid driver’s license, and/or required level of personal auto insurance.
  • Must possess and maintain a security clearance at the “SECRET” level.
  • Ability to communicate with tact and maintain confidentiality.
  • Adequate ability in communicating in spoken conversation – adequate volume speech.
  • Ability to effectively build and maintain positive working relationships with management and peers.
  • Superior listening, verbal, and written communication skills.

POSITIONS SUPERVISED (or Team Lead responsibilities, if applicable):
None

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES SUMMARY:
Responsible for assisting with janitorial supply budget and inventory. Ensures that all supply requirements are met for both janitorial and floor crew employees. Delivers and sort supplies and chemicals daily to various locations on post. Performs daily laundry duties to include washing, drying, and sorting to be delivered to various sites. Responsible for submitting monthly inventory reports to the Accounting /Payroll Department for oversight of all inventory. Work closely with the supply clerk for the daily functions of inventory and supply duties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
   To assist supply clerk with the following:
  • Order and store needed janitorial supplies.
  • Independent decision making on scheduled deliveries to various buildings and locations.
  • Ensure adequate supplies and materials are maintained for winter emergency operations.
  • Prepare a monthly spreadsheet of expenditures purchased and submit supporting documents to the Accounting/Payroll Department.
  • Mix and dispense chemicals for use by janitorial crews and ensure adequate supply of chemical labels.
  • Perform monthly inventory of supplies on hand and report to the Payroll Department.
  • Maintain warehouse area to present a neat and orderly appearance.
  • Recycle empty plastic containers and cardboard waste products.
  • Perform other duties as required to fulfill janitorial contract obligations.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES RELATED TO THIS POSITION MAY INCLUDE ANY OF THE FOLLOWING:
      •     Position requires driving to and from various locations on military post.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the company cell phone (if issued) is carried and operational during assigned work hours for communication with supervisors and the office staff.

  • Adequate ability for conversation, telephone use, and emergency information systems.
  • Ability to be independently mobile on all surfaces and situations.
  • Ability to move safely about work area.
  • Ability to retrieve items from high and low areas.
  • Ability to perceive size, discrimination, temperature, shapes, and/or textures.
  • Physical stamina to work at least 8 hours per day.

  • Provide supply assistance as needed for other job-related functions.
  • Perform other duties as required to fulfill janitorial contract obligations.
