​​Role Overview

As an Assistant Teacher at Atlas Elementary, you will play a vital role in the classroom, working alongside a certified lead teacher throughout the day to support high-quality and engaging instruction. You’ll be collaborating with your partner teachers and the larger school community to bring Atlas’ mission and vision to life. With your drive, creativity, and growth mindset, you’ll help foster a learning environment that emphasizes both academic excellence and social-emotional growth.

In this role, you will:

• Collaborate with the lead teacher to deliver dynamic lessons, contributing your unique perspective and skills to create a rich, engaging classroom experience for every student.


• Gain hands-on experience and professional growth opportunities within an expanding and forward-thinking educational environment.


• Support children in developing critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills that will serve them in all areas of life.


• Stay informed about current trends, innovations, and research in learning sciences, instructional methods, and student behavior.


• Partner with families and community organizations to offer the individualized support each student needs, maintaining high expectations and standards for student achievement.


• Contribute to educating the whole child by supporting Atlas’ commitment to habits, skills, and mindsets essential for lifelong success.

In order to teach at Atlas Public Schools, you must:

• Pass a background check and complete the Family Care Safety Registry.


• Hold a Bachelor’s Degree or have substantial experience working with elementary students in a formal setting along with a substitute teaching certificate.


• Demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States.
