Job Description - Assistive Technology Professional (ATP)

We are seeking a compassionate, knowledgeable, and motivated Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) to join our team in Anchorage, Alaska. The ATP will assess, recommend, and support assistive technology solutions that improve independence, mobility, communication, and quality of life for individuals with disabilities. 



This role works closely with clients, caregivers, therapists, physicians, educators, and funding sources to ensure appropriate equipment selection, successful implementation, and ongoing support.



Key Responsibilities



  • Conduct comprehensive assistive technology evaluations and needs assessments.

  • Recommend appropriate assistive technology devices and equipment.

  • Collaborate with occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, physicians, and other professionals.

  • Prepare detailed evaluation reports, justification letters, and funding documentation.

  • Coordinate equipment trials, fittings, delivery, and training.

  • Provide client and caregiver education on the use and maintenance of assistive technology.

  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate repairs or modifications.

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with company and regulatory standards.

  • Stay current with emerging assistive technology products, funding requirements, and best practices.



Qualifications




  • RESNA certification as an Assistive Technology Professional (ATP).

  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities across the lifespan.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Valid Alaska driver's license (or ability to obtain one).

  • M - F, Full-time, Travel throughout Alaska



Preferred



  • Two or more years of experience in assistive technology, mobility, seating and positioning, augmentative communication, or durable medical equipment.

  • Experience with Medicaid, Medicare, vocational rehabilitation, school-based services, or other funding sources.

  • Bachelor's degree in rehabilitation engineering, occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech-language pathology, special education, rehabilitation counseling, or a related field.

  • Additional certifications (SMS, CRTS, SLP, OT, PT, etc.).
