Pay: $100,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year

Location: This role is based in Pasadena, CA. Work arrangement may vary depending on experience level and candidate location, but candidates must be local or within commuting distance, as relocation assistance is not available.

Note: Candidates must be licensed to practice law in California and have hands-on litigation experience, including pleadings, discovery, law and motion, and trial preparation. Insurance defense, HOA litigation, employment and labor, or personal injury experience is a plus.

Job Description

• Manage a caseload of civil litigation defense matters from early case assessment through resolution.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, and other litigation documents.
• Handle written discovery, document review, case investigation, and legal research.
• Prepare for depositions, mediations, hearings, arbitrations, and trial.
• Work directly with partners, clients, opposing counsel, experts, and support staff.
• Analyze legal and factual issues and develop practical case strategies.
• Support matters involving property claims, HOA disputes, premises liability, products liability, personal injury, professional liability, and related defense litigation.
• Contribute to a collegial team environment focused on strong client service and high-quality legal work.

Qualifications

• Active California Bar license required.
• Litigation experience required, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.
• Defense litigation experience preferred.
• Experience with insurance defense, HOA litigation, employment and labor, personal injury, general liability, premises liability, construction defect, or professional liability matters is a plus.
• Strong legal research, writing, organization, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage deadlines, communicate professionally, and work both independently and collaboratively.
• Newly admitted attorneys may be considered if they have strong litigation exposure, but hands-on experience is strongly preferred.

• Newly admitted to 1 year: $100k to $115k, if strong litigation exposure

• 2 to 3 years: $115k to $135k, hands-on civil litigation experience

• 4 to 6 years: $135k to $155k, strong defense litigation experience

• 7+ years: $155k to $180k, highly relevant litigation defense experience and ability to independently manage cases
