Job Description - Associate Attorney

Pay: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year

Location:

Hilo, Hawaii, with a flexible hybrid work arrangement. Full-time in-person work in Hawaii is preferred, and attorneys should be available for in-person court appearances approximately once per month and regular travel to the Big Island and other Hawaiian islands as needed for court proceedings. Relocation assistance may be available.

An active license to practice law in Hawaii is required to be considered for this opportunity. We are open to attorneys at all experience levels and from a variety of backgrounds, including law firms, in-house environments, and solo practice.

Job Description

  • Represent clients in court proceedings and advocate effectively throughout the legal process.
  • Handle a diverse range of family, civil, probate, and estate planning matters.
  • Draft and review complaints, answers, motions, petitions, wills, powers of attorney, deeds, tax forms, advance directives, and other legal documents.
  • Provide practical legal analysis, counsel, and solutions tailored to each client's needs and goals.
  • Manage matters from initial client consultation through resolution.
  • Prepare cases for hearings, proceedings, negotiations, and other key milestones.
  • Maintain organized and accurate case files, correspondence, deadlines, and records.
  • Conduct legal research and stay current on applicable laws, regulations, and Hawaii court procedures.
  • Collaborate with our team while independently managing your caseload and priorities.
  • Travel within Hawaii as needed for court proceedings and client matters.

Qualifications

  • Active license to practice law in Hawaii required.
  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
  • Attorney experience in any practice background is welcome.
  • Strong knowledge of legal procedure and the ability to navigate Hawaii court rules.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, drafting, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage matters independently while working effectively with a collaborative team.
  • Strong communication, organization, judgment, and client service skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel within Hawaii as needed for court proceedings.
