Role Description Summary
You will work as a Legal Counsel and generally be responsible for:
Conducting due diligence on funding opportunities
Providing advice and recommendations about funding matters
Providing ongoing management of funded matters
Research on legal and other issues
Preparing information on litigation finance-related topics
Key Role Responsibilities
The role requires you to undertake a broad range of duties, such as:
Conducting due diligence on prospective funding opportunities (including analyzing financial and legal issues, communicating directly with claimants and their counsel, and conducting factual investigations)
Assisting Investment Managers in the preparation and negotiation of term sheets
Providing recommendations as to the appropriateness of funding matters and preparing and presenting submissions to the Investment Committee
Meeting and speaking with lawyers/law firms to discuss litigation finance generally
Managing funded cases by maintaining client and lawyer communications, monitoring case progress and developments, conferring on strategic issues, considering settlement issues, and managing litigation fees and expenses;
Conducting general research on legal, strategic, and other issues as requested
Preparing submissions, articles, blogs, and PowerPoint presentations on litigation finance-related topics and assisting Investment Managers with some aspects of their business development activities
Required Education
a J.D. and 6 or more years of litigation experience
Superior academic credentials

The ability to manage tight timelines and balance competing priorities
The ability to be self-motivated, results driven and thorough
