JOB DESCRIPTION

Purpose and Primary Responsibilities

The role of the Associate Pastor/Director of College & Young Adults is to oversee the college and young adult ministries of Christ Community and to carry out the mission of the church. This person will champion these ministry areas to help people take the next step in their faith. This person must have strong written and verbal communication skills, good problem-solving abilities, and be a team player. They must have the ability to effectively engage with young adults in discipleship.

Essential Responsibilities 

• Provide oversight for the college ministry.


• Provide oversight for the young adult ministry.


• Personally participate in discipling college students and young adults and lead our overall disciple-making effort in these ministries. 


• Recruit and train leaders for various programs and events. 


• Find new ways to reach college students and young adults who do not attend Christ Community. 


• Develop and oversee a volunteer team to lead in various aspects of the ministry. 


• Teach in various large-group and small-group settings regularly. 


•  Assist in the planning and leading of ministry events.


• Attend weekly staff meetings and work with other ministry areas to accomplish the mission of Christ Community. 


• Other duties as assigned.
