Job Description - Associate Program Director

Summary:


Under the general supervision of the Program Director, the Associate Program Director (APD) supports the leadership, implementation, management, supervision, evaluation, and reporting of the Center for Entrepreneurship Program. The APD assists in ensuring the successful delivery of entrepreneurship, financial capability, asset-building, and business development services that empower families participating in early childhood programs to increase economic security and well-being.



The Associate Program Director oversees day-to-day program operations, supervises staff, supports budget and grant management, develops community partnerships, and ensures program goals, objectives, and outcomes are achieved in accordance with organizational standards, grant requirements, and the mission and vision of the organization. The APD serves as the acting administrator in the absence of the Program Director.


 


                   




Minimum Qualifications:


·        Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, Education, Public Administration, Community Development, Social Work, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.


·        Minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in program management, business development, entrepreneurship, economic development, education, or a related field.


·        Supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.


·       Experience working with families and community-based programs.


 


 


Skills and Knowledge:





·        Ability to collaborate effectively with staff, community partners, and stakeholders.


·        Strong leadership, supervisory, coaching, and organizational skills.


·        Excellent planning, coordination, project management, and time management abilities.


·        Knowledge of entrepreneurship, financial capability, business development, and asset-building principles.


·        Ability to establish and maintain partnerships that enhance program effectiveness and sustainability.


·        Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.


·        Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.


·        Data competency skills including finding, cleaning, analyzing, evaluating, and interpreting data to strengthen program operations and ensure quality control.


·        Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.


·       Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other database or reporting systems.


 



Preferred Knowledge: 


·       Knowledge and sensitivity to the interests and needs of families in Native Hawaiian and/or poverty communities.


·        Experience with various databases is highly desirable.


 


 


Essential Job Requirements:


·       Sit for 6-8 hours at a time, kneeling, squatting, standing, and bending.


·       Able to work on a computer screen for long periods of time.


·       Lift up to 25 pounds.


·        Ability to travel to program sites, meetings, trainings, and community events as required.


·       Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends to support program activities and community events.
