Athletic Academic Advisor

Job Description:

The Athletic Academic Advisor will report directly to the Director of Student Athlete Advising. This position will assist with the following responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and supervise academic progress of assigned student-athletes through one-on-one meetings, coordination of support services and academic evaluations to professors.
  • Connecting student-athletes with support systems by partnering with departments on main campus (i.e., tutoring, learning services, counseling, study hall, etc.)
  • Help the Office of Athlete Support Services manage SAAC and attend monthly meetings
  • Help to manage MSM SAAC social media
  • Review academic eligibility and assist with student-athlete recertification process
  • Help to organize annual events such as The Emmit’s Award Show and the Senior Student-Athlete Social
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Student Athlete Advising Academics

Job Requirements: Education, Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 1-4 Years of Participation College Athletics Preferred
  • Ability to finish tasks in a timely manner and work independently
  • Must Communicate Effectively
  • Must be a Team Player
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations

Salary/Hours/Benefits

  • $10,000/year
  • Part Time (10 months contract)
  • Tuition Remission Benefits.
