ATS - Electrical Test Technician - Weekend Shift

Eaton\u2019s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking an ATS - Electrical Test Technician - Weekend Shift to join our team.\n\nThe hourly rate for this position is $26.50 per hour.\n\nThe core hours are 5am -3:30pm.\n\nPlease note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. \n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\nThe ATS Electrical Test Technician will set up, operate and maintain a variety of test equipment to perform electrical, electronic and mechanical tests on a variety of control equipment under the supervision of an experienced tester. Tester C is expected to continue through tester progression to Tester B \u0026 A, following the documented timeline and expectations provided in the tester book. \nIn this function you will: \n\u2022 Test equipment, ensure it meets customer specifications as well as safety and quality requirements under supervision. \n\u2022 Ensure a safe work environment for self and others and ensure safety procedures are followed. \n\u2022 Constantly involved in product and process knowledge; requiring additional classroom work, assigned reading, and training from an experienced tester (A). \n\u2022 Build positive relationships that support job objectives and a team environment. \n\u2022 Develop rapport and establish relationships with customers; will interface heavily with customers on witness tests under the supervision and guidance of an experienced tester (A). \n\u2022 Record data and write reports, process paperwork timely, accurately, and with accountability. \n\u2022 Follow procedures with accuracy, efficiently and with strict attention to details. \n\u2022 Troubleshoot and repair various problems that could occur during course of test such as warranty and non-warranty problems; requires Tester to think critically to solve problems with the assistance of an experienced tester (A or B). \n\u2022 Continuously improve work environment processes; may require Tester to suggest ways to develop test setups and new procedures when current procedures are inadequate. \n\u2022 Recognize and report quality issues through the correct channels as they arise. \n\u2022 Perform other tasks as required. \n\n## Qualifications:\n\nRequired (Basic) Qualifications: \n\u2022 Associates degree in electrical engineering or electronics from an accredited institution. \n\u2022 Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation \nPreferred Qualifications: \n\u2022 Previous work experience troubleshooting electrical and/or mechanical problems. \n\u2022 Previous experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment\n\n## Position Criteria:\n\n\u2022 Strong knowledge of the following fundamental electrical concepts: Basic Electricity, Motors and Controls, PLC Programming \u0026 Fundamentals AC/DC \n\u2022 Experience with protective relays. \n\u2022 Perform electrical testing or service work (i.e. physical and mental activities) on equipment ranging from 5VDC (logic devices, zone interlocking signals, etc.) up to 30KVAC three phase power. \n\u2022 Advanced Troubleshooting Technique \n\u2022 Advanced Test Equipment Operation \n\u2022 Assist Design and Application Engineers with special test projects. \n\u2022 Ability to repetitively work at elevated heights, standing, climbing, squatting, bending, kneeling. \n\u2022 Ability to repetitively lift, hold, push, pull, handle up to 35 pounds. \n\u2022 Strong computer skills \n\u2022 Strong knowledge of the company\u0027s electrical, electronic and mechanical products. \n\u2022 Knowledge and practice of safety precautions related to working with electrical and electronic equipment. \n\u2022 Demonstrated ability to provide service and represent company interests in developing customer relationships to assure long-term customer satisfaction. \n\u2022 Must be able to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends.\n\nWe are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
