As metal fabrication AutoCad Drafter, you will have a diversity of challenging and rewarding tasks, adding to Metl-Fab’s excellence in quality and customer satisfaction. A keen eye for detail, a strong mathematical skill set, and holding safety to the highest standard are a must for this opportunity.  This position will start training full-time in office and then have the option to work hybrid.

Job Responsibilities

• Utilize AutoCAD software to create accurate and detailed drawings, plans, and layouts for cold storage construction projects, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and details.


• Work closely with architects, engineers, and project managers to understand project requirements, review sketches and specifications, and translate them into comprehensive CAD drawings.


• Ensure that all drawings adhere to industry standards, building codes, and regulations relevant to cold storage construction, including proper insulation, ventilation, and structural requirements.


• Review and revise drawings based on feedback from project stakeholders, incorporating changes and updates as required throughout the design and construction phases.


• Conduct quality checks on drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency with project requirements and specifications.


• Follow advancements in cold storage construction techniques, materials, and technologies, and integrate innovative solutions into design practices where applicable.


• Demonstrate a willingness and ability to take on additional responsibilities beyond core drafting duties, such as assisting in site surveys, conducting material take-offs, or participating in design meetings, to contribute to the overall success of the project team.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred applicants will have 3-5 years of experience using AutoCad within the construction industry, specifically within cold storage construction, including insulation techniques, refrigeration systems, HVAC design, and regulatory compliance standards. An AutoCad certification is preferred, but not required.
