Automotive Salesperson

A-1 Toyota is looking for additional automotive salespeople! They are responsible for meeting sales goals, managing customer relationships, and handling necessary paperwork. Key skills include strong communication, and a customer-service-oriented attitude, with a schedule that often includes nights, weekends, and holidays.  

Core responsibilities

• Customer interaction: Greet customers, determine their needs, and guide them through the selection of vehicles. 
• Product knowledge: Study and understand the features and specifications of various car models to effectively present them to potential buyers. 
• Administrative tasks: Complete all necessary paperwork, including sales contracts and financing documents. 
• Relationship management: Build and maintain relationships with customers to encourage repeat business and generate new leads. 
• Ancillary sales: Sell additional products like accessories, warranties, and service plans. 
• Dealership support: Assist with showroom setup, update the customer database, and communicate with other departments like service.

Required skills and qualifications

• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with a wide range of customers. 
• Negotiation: Strong ability to negotiate prices and overcome customer objections to finalize sales. 
• Customer service: A positive attitude and ability to build rapport and ensure customer satisfaction. 
• Sales drive: Self-esteem and motivation to meet and exceed sales targets. 
• Problem-solving: The ability to apply common sense to solve practical problems that may arise during the sales process. 
• Math skills: Ability to perform calculations for pricing, trade-ins, and taxes accurately. 
• Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required, but some roles may prefer or require additional education.

• Schedule: Work schedules are often irregular and can include evenings, weekends, and holidays, as many dealerships are open during these times
