Automotive Service Advisor

Job Summary

Our automotive shop is growing, and Outten Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Hamburg is seeking Service Advisors to assist our clients and offering a sign-on bonus. As the face of Outten CDJR, you'll greet customers who need repairs and serve as their liaison with our auto technicians. You'll put your automotive knowledge to work to diagnose problems, write estimates for repair work, prepare repair orders, and answer customer questions. Responsibilities and Duties

• Ascertain automotive problems and services by listening to customer's description of symptoms or checking vehicle maintenance records


• Verify warranty and service contract coverage


• Develop accurate estimates while factoring in materials, supplies, labor, and deductibles


• Prepare easy to understand repair orders and enter them into our database


• Maintain customer rapport by relaying accurate and consistent information, answering questions, and arranging towing or temporary transportation


• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities

Qualifications and Skills

• Previous experience at an automotive dealership in any role is strongly preferred

• A strong knowledge of cars and the willingness to learn more


• Strong teamwork skills


• Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing


• Friendly demeanor and excellent customer service skills


• Attention to detail


• Good time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment


• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs


• The desire to build a career in a progressive, growing company


• Able to work nights and weekends

Experience

• Familiar with Auto/Mate


• Service Advisor experience is preferred but not required
