Automotive Service Advisor - Laura Buick-GMC

Reports To: Service Manager / Fixed Ops Director

Schedule: Full-Time Position

M-F (7AM - 6PM) - Hours will vary within that time frame.

Summary: Automotive Service Advisors are responsible for greeting customers, listening to their vehicle concerns, determining appropriate service needs, and preparing accurate repair orders. This role also involves communicating repair updates, estimating additional costs when necessary, and obtaining customer authorization for any additional work. 

Essential Duties:

• Greet customers in a timely, friendly, and professional manner and obtain vehicle information.
• Perform vehicle walk-arounds with customers to document concerns and condition.
• Identify mechanical issues through customer communication, visual inspection, and/or road tests.
• Consult with customers regarding inspection results and recommend appropriate repair procedures.
• Prepare accurate repair orders including labor, time, and cost estimates for service work.
• Clearly explain repair findings, completed work, and charges to customers.
• Handle and resolve customer complaints professionally and promptly.
• Monitor repair progress throughout the day and provide updates to customers as needed.
• Contact customers regarding changes in estimates, completion times, or additional required repairs and obtain proper authorization before proceeding.
• Review repair orders to ensure all work is completed and properly documented, then close repair orders appropriately.
• Maintain high standards of customer satisfaction and service experience.
• Remains fully compliant with Company HR trainings.
• Maintains a professional appearance.
• Other tasks as assigned.
