Backwaiter

Work Location: In-person role based in Windham, NY. 

Seasonal Position: This role is available for the winter season.

Pay: 13 per hour plus tips

Anticipated Start Dates:  Weather-dependent, typically beginning in early December. 

Scheduling Expectations:   Part Time evening shifts on weekends and holiday are needed.

Conditions:  This role is primarily performed indoors in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Position Summary:

The Back Waiter provides fast, friendly guest service, supports dining room operations, and helps maintain a clean, safe, and efficient restaurant environment.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Deliver food and beverages to guests.
• Bus, clean, and reset tables.
• Provide courteous and professional service.
• Follow alcohol service policies and procedures.
• Maintain knowledge of menus and offerings.
• Clean and restock workstations, glassware, silverware, and linens.
• Assist with dining room setup, breakdown, and special events.
• Set up and maintain beverage stations.
• Support inventory and service preparation tasks.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• TIPS certification required before starting.
• Food service experience preferred.
• Friendly and professional with guests and coworkers.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Strong multitasking and teamwork skills.
• Able to provide efficient food and beverage service.

Physical Requirements: 

• Lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
• Stand and walk for up to 10 hours.
• Carry weighted trays through busy areas.
• Navigate uneven terrain, including snow and ice.
• Climb stairs and ladders.
• Regularly bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, and pull.
