Primary Duties and Responsibilities



  • Responsible for preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosis and repair of all production and shop equipment.  



  • Responsible for maintaining  minimal equipment downtime and rework.  



  • Direct Maintenance Engineers in daily workload



  • Assist in training maintenance department and production personnel. 



  • Maintain and repair facility which may include framing, plumbing, and electrical. 


  • Ensure all work areas are clean, safe, and follows company GMP’s.

  • Work in a safe and efficient manner and in compliance with federal and state requirements.


  • Maintain accurate and timely records of work performed.



  • Prepare specific and accurate parts request forms, assist in parts ordering and inventory management.


  • Responds to maintenance and line stoppage calls with a sense of urgency and ownership.


  • Provides technical assistance and information to Chief Engineer, as needed.



  • Recognize improvement opportunities and make recommendations to Chief Engineer. 


  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Must join union within 30 days of hire.



Preferred Education/Experience




  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Forklift license or ability to obtain one.

  • LME License or experience with electrical maintenance is preferred.


  • 4+ years experience in similar maintenance of production equipment and facilities at a large commercial bakery, artisan bakery, or other similar industrial, manufacturing or production-line equipment.




Critical Skills and Expertise




  • Must have a positive and safe work ethic, be a team player.

  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively with co-workers in multiple functions and management.

  • Must be able to complete a variety of basic math and requirement documentation.

  • Ability to quickly learn new job tasks and flexibility to work in different projects as needed.

  • Must be able to work any day, including holidays, or any shift.

  • Must have reliable attendance to meet employer’s attendance standards for a production facility.
