Position Summary: (No computer skills needed)

As a member of the Ballot Preparation Team, you will work collaboratively at tables of four to open mail ballot envelopes, carefully remove ballots, and prepare them for tabulation. This role requires attention to detail and adherence to established election procedures to ensure ballots are handled accurately and securely. The position is primarily seated and does not require computer use.

Job Description:

Training will be provided on your first day.

• Count and verify the number of ballot envelopes in each tray.


• Open return envelopes and carefully remove voted ballots.


• Identify and separate damaged, facsimile, or fax ballots that may require a remake.


• Inspect ballots for red ink or light voter markings that may need enhancement for tabulation.


• Prepare ballot cards for tabulation by back-folding and properly boxing extracted ballots.


• Maintain voter anonymity by ensuring voter-identifying information remains out of view at all times.


• File empty envelopes, remakes, and miscellaneous materials in their designated storage areas.


• Check batches of empty envelopes to confirm that all ballots have been successfully extracted.


• Be comfortable with occasional downtime while waiting for additional ballots to be processed or delivered.

Essential Physical Requirements:
Ability to maintain frequent upward and downward neck movement throughout the workday while sitting for extended periods and performing repetitive tasks, with scheduled breaks to support comfort and productivity.

Friday June 19th, 2026 - Thursday July 2nd, 2026
