Job Purpose The Bar Prep position supports the execution of Puttery’s beverage program by preparing fresh ingredients, garnishes, cocktail mixes, and other bar components while helping maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar. This role combines elements of kitchen prep and barback support and works closely with Bartenders, Culinary team members, and venue leadership to ensure the bar is prepared for efficient service and consistent execution of Puttery’s craft cocktail program. Responsibilities
- Prepare fresh garnishes, fruits, herbs, juices, syrups, infusions, cocktail mixes, and other beverage ingredients according to established recipes and standards.
- Batch and portion cocktail ingredients and mixes accurately to support consistent beverage quality.
- Follow recipes, measurements, labeling, dating, rotation, and storage procedures.
- Stock, organize, and replenish bar ingredients, supplies, glassware, ice, and other service needs.
- Assist Bartenders with bar setup and ongoing restocking to maintain efficient service.
- Coordinate with Bartenders, Culinary team members, and leadership to identify daily prep and stocking needs.
- Maintain clean and organized bar prep, storage, refrigeration, and work areas.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, handling, and temperature-control standards.
- Monitor ingredient levels and communicate low-stock or prep needs to leadership.
- Assist with opening, closing, and general bar readiness procedures.
- Minimize waste through proper preparation, portioning, storage, and product rotation.
- Perform other duties as assigned based on operational needs.
Qualifications
- Must meet all applicable age requirements based on assigned duties and local regulations.
- Previous experience in food preparation, barback, bartending support, restaurant, or hospitality operations preferred but not required.
- Ability to follow recipes, measurements, preparation procedures, and quality standards accurately.
- Basic knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper ingredient handling preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and multitasking skills.
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally use force up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to stand and/or walk for extended periods.
- Work schedule may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
Essential Functions and Physical Requirements
- Regularly stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Frequently bend, reach, twist, stoop, and perform repetitive hand and arm movements while preparing ingredients and stocking bar areas.
- Regularly lift and/or move items weighing up to 30 pounds and occasionally use force up to 50 pounds.
- Safely handle kitchen and bar preparation tools, including knives, cutting equipment, containers, and smallwares.
- Prepare, portion, mix, label, store, and transport beverage ingredients and bar supplies.
- Work safely around wet surfaces, refrigeration equipment, glassware, food products, and beverage equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of prep areas, equipment, storage areas, and work surfaces.
- Work in a fast-paced hospitality environment that may include exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and high guest volume.
- Maintain the mobility, coordination, and attention necessary to perform preparation and bar support duties safely and efficiently.
- Work a flexible schedule that may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
