Beertender - Paradise Valley

Wren House Brewing Company is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable individual to join our team as a Beertender, at our Paradise Valley location. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, flexibility, and being part of multiple teams while delivering a consistently great guest experience.

Beertenders play a vital role in creating memorable experiences for our guests by providing exceptional service and sharing their passion for craft beer. Ideal candidates will have a strong understanding of craft beer, excellent communication skills, and a genuine desire to engage with customers in a friendly and welcoming manner.

This is a part-time position averaging 1–2 shifts per week, with the ability to work weekends and assist with shift coverage as needed. 

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service:

• Welcome and greet customers as they enter the taproom.


• Provide friendly and attentive service to guests, ensuring a positive and memorable experience.


• Educate customers about Wren House, our beer offerings, and the brewing process.


• Assist customers in selecting beers based on their preferences and provide recommendations.

Beer Presentation and Service:

• Educate yourself and customers on cask/real ale style beer, including production and pouring techniques (Training provided).


• Pour and serve beer to customers with accuracy and attention to detail using both standard draft systems and Euro-style Cask Engines.


• Maintain cleanliness and organization in taproom areas, including the bar and seating areas.


• Handle glassware and other serving materials with care to ensure cleanliness and safety.


• Ensure that all beers are served at the appropriate temperature and in the correct glassware.

Beer Knowledge, Education, and Production:

• Stay up-to-date on our current beer lineup, including seasonal and specialty offerings.


• Assist with tasks on the production floor, such as logging incoming beers, entering data into beer logs, and conducting quality checks, particularly in our cask beer production area.


• Continuously expand knowledge of craft beer styles, ingredients, and brewing techniques.


• Engage with customers to discuss beer styles, flavor profiles, and brewing trends.


• Conduct brewery tours and tastings, providing educational experiences for guests.

Sales and Merchandising:

• Promote Wren House merchandise, including apparel, glassware, and other branded items.


• Process transactions accurately using our point-of-sale (Square for Retail) system.


• Assist in maintaining inventory levels and restocking merchandise as needed.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in customer service or hospitality preferred.


• Passion for craft beer and a desire to learn more about the brewing industry.


• Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with diverse groups of people.


• Excellent multitasking abilities and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.


• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.


• AZ Food Handlers and Title 4 certifications or willingness to obtain certifications.
