Position Overview:
Job Title: Behavior Specialist, MA
Location: Rochester, NY
Department: Psychological Services
Reports To: Manager of Behavior Services
Employment Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Wage Range: $29.60 – $33.50 (plus an additional $2,000 annual differential for Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs))
Schedule: Monday - Friday 9am-5pm

Your Core Responsibilities:
Assessment & Treatment Planning
- Conduct psychological assessments to identify strengths, needs, and behavioral goals.
- Assist in developing individualized Personal Futures Plans and Behavior Support Plans.
- Recommend evidence-based interventions that promote independence and quality of life.
Behavioral & Clinical Services
- Develop and implement behavioral support services.
- Provide psychological consultation to individuals, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Deliver and oversee behavioral interventions that support emotional, cognitive, and social development.
- Provide clinical supervision and guidance to assigned Behavior Technicians.
Training & Professional Development
- Conduct in-service training on behavioral support practices.
- Provide clinical coaching and consultation to staff.
- Support ongoing professional development related to behavioral health services.
Documentation & Data Analysis
- Collect, review, and analyze behavioral data to guide treatment planning.
- Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation.
- Communicate behavioral updates with interdisciplinary team members and service providers.
Team Collaboration & Compliance
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and service plan reviews.
- Ensure compliance with OPWDD regulations, Human Rights Committee standards, and agency policies.
- Foster a safe, respectful, and person-centered environment.
- Perform additional duties that support program and agency objectives.
What You Bring:
- Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Education, or a related field.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience developing behavior programs for individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) qualification required.
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification is highly preferred. Employees holding an active BCBA certification receive an additional $2,000 annual salary differential.
- Strong assessment, behavioral analysis, and clinical intervention skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams and families.
- Must meet applicable background check and vehicle operator requirements.
- Ability to obtain and maintain OPWDD Level II SCIP-R certification.
- Ability to lift and/or transfer up to 35 pounds.
