Job Description - Behavior Support Training Specialist

The Behavior Support Specialist is a full-time (40 hours/week) hourly role
What you will do:
Deliver live classroom trainings on topics including but not limited to Mandt (or other agency-approved crisis management curriculum), Positive Behavior Supports, Core Booster, and Foundations.
Observe, assess, and provide support as necessary to participants in need of behavioral support/assistance
Provide RBT services as scheduled and outlined in an individual's Behavior Support Plan.
Evaluate effectiveness of strategies implemented and work with BCBA to suggest changes to short- and long-term strategies as necessary.
Work as a liaison between people supported, their program teams, the Behavior Team, and families.
Utilize behavioral and Mandt skills to assist staff during crisis events.
Provide documentation in accordance with agency, funder, and professional guidelines.

What we expect of you:

High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s Degree or some college preferred)
Two or more years of experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities or work in educational field
Experience supervising and implementing behavior plans preferred
Registered Behavior Technician Certification (agency can provide RBT certification)
Reliable vehicle with valid driver’s license and auto insurance at time of hire.

Ability to teach and break down behavior intervention techniques so that they are understandable and achievable

Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
Dedication to staying educated on new/novel behavior support techniques and trends
