The Project is excited to announce an opening for a Behavioral Health Clinical Manager. Under the general guidance and mentorship of the Director of Healthcare Operations, this role coordinates and oversees the activities of the behavioral health department and clinical team to ensure the compassionate, effective, and efficient delivery of high-quality, ethical, culturally competent, and LGBTQ+ affirming care.
Responsibilities Include:
The Behavioral Health Clinical Manager is a key leader in advancing the Project’s mission to be a leader in providing affirming health care and supportive services that promote well-being. This role balances direct clinical care with team leadership, maintaining a small caseload while ensuring services are trauma-informed, person-centered, and responsive to the diverse needs of the community, especially those living with HIV and LGBTQ+ individuals.
You will supervise and support a dedicated behavioral health team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous growth. Through clinical supervision, team leadership, and staff development, you’ll ensure the delivery of high-quality, ethical, and affirming care.
Working closely with organizational leadership and community partners, you’ll help strengthen and expand services through program development, quality improvement, and implementation of evidence-based practices, improving access and outcomes for those we serve.
As a member of the Leadership Team, you will model organizational values, build meaningful partnerships, and represent the Project in ways that advance its mission. This position supervises 2.8 FTE, including Behavioral Health Clinicians and the Transgender & Gender Expansive Care Navigator, and provides additional supervision to interns as needed.

This full-time position is based at our office in Moline, Illinois. Some occasional evening or weekend work may be required. Flexible scheduling options may be available (for example, remote work or four 10-hour days) based on organizational needs.
Physical Demands
The employee may be required to lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects up to 25 pounds. The role will require the employee to speak and hear on a regular basis. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for those who need assistance with the above essential functions.
Compensation
Compensation starts at $69,473 per year/per hour. The final offered salary is determined by years of professional and/or lived experience beyond the minimum requirement, with an additional 2.5% for those proficient in a second language relevant to the role. Our compensation structure is experience-centric and not contingent on education. As part of our commitment to pay equity, salaries are non-negotiable and reviewed annually. We have historically prioritized broad, equitable adjustments over performance-based increases, with the understanding that our approach may evolve.
