Fenner Dunlop is looking for a Belt Shop Reconditioning Coordinator to join our Homer City Services team. In this role, you will coordinate and oversee day-to-day belt shop operations, support customer and service requirements, supervise and develop employees, and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to Fenner Dunlop’s quality standards. This position reports to the Operations Manager.

For over 150 years, Fenner Dunlop has researched, designed, developed, manufactured, and tested its conveyor belting products, supporting nearly any type of conveyor application and providing the right solutions to protect conveyor system investments in the harshest conveying environments.
What You'll Do
Shop Operations & Supervision
Supervise and instruct employees when physically working in the belt shop.
Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and practices.
Implement measures to ensure the quality and efficiency of services performed.
Monitor productivity and maintain accurate records to capture all billable items.
Assist with planning, coordinating, and prioritizing work to meet customer demands and operational needs.
Procure and maintain an adequate supply of materials, safety equipment, and PPE.
Work with the Logistics Coordinator to create purchase orders, receive materials, reconcile inventory, and report inventory information to Finance.
Ensure shop equipment is regularly inspected, properly maintained, and meets applicable calibration standards.
Maintain daily housekeeping and organization practices throughout the belt shop and storage areas.
Assist in the field on high-profile jobs as required by Management.
Coordinate service calls for Cleaner and Service jobs.
Update product costing as needed to help maintain appropriate margins.
Make and receive calls from technicians and customers during and, as needed, after normal business hours.
Work collaboratively with other supervisors and management to implement company policies, goals, and operational priorities.
Demonstrate adaptability in a fast-paced environment and adjust work strategies as business needs evolve.
Customer & Vendor Engagement
Proactively communicate with Sales, Services, customers, and vendors regarding current and upcoming order fulfillment requirements.
Maintain and nurture positive customer and vendor relationships.
Prioritize work and resources to meet customer expectations and service requirements.
Coordinate transportation for product pickup and delivery.
Provide timely communication regarding order status, service requirements, and operational needs.
Support effective resolution of customer and operational issues.
Team Management & Development
Establish performance expectations and objectives for employees.
Conduct new-task training and training for new employees.
Identify training needs and opportunities for skill development.
Identify opportunities for cross-training and assess employee skill gaps.
Cross-train employees to enhance their skills, versatility, and productivity across various machines and processes.
Maintain records of training activities, including attendance, progress, and completion.
Provide regular performance feedback and conduct constructive performance reviews.
Address performance concerns and administer corrective action consistent with company policy.
Monitor employee hours, overtime, and attendance through computer-based timekeeping systems.
Foster a positive, collaborative team environment built on communication, cooperation, and respect.
Encourage employees to provide ideas, concerns, and feedback regarding processes and operations.
Work with the team to identify process inefficiencies and implement improvements.
Recognize individual and team accomplishments and promote employee engagement.
Health & Safety
Ensure employees understand and follow applicable safety and quality regulations.
Ensure proper PPE usage and compliance with company safety requirements.
Conduct safety meetings, safety talks, and audits and participate in the Safety Program.
Enter Hazard IDs and complete assigned action items.
Review and modify Task Safety Analyses and train employees on revisions.
Monitor the shop environment to identify and address potential hazards.
Ensure employees perform their work safely throughout their shifts.
Promote a daily culture of safety and accountability.
Report safety concerns and incidents to management.
Quality & Continuous Improvement
Ensure incoming components are inspected and meet applicable quality standards.
Ensure inspection forms are completed accurately and on time.
Ensure the belt shop consistently adheres to OSHA and company standards.
Assist in developing and maintaining quality control guidelines.
Train employees on proper procedures and 5S principles and ensure adherence.
Conduct regular 5S audits and assessments and implement corrective actions as needed.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement and ownership of processes.
Inspect production to ensure work meets established quality standards.
Promptly identify and report non-conforming conditions and issue deviations to management.
Analyze quality defects, identify root causes, and implement appropriate countermeasures.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop working environment.
Additional Responsibilities
Ability to work off shifts as needed, including afternoons, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Adapt to changes in work schedules based on business needs.
Travel, including overnight travel, is required approximately 15–30% of the time.
Maintain professional behavior while working, visiting customer sites, and traveling on behalf of Fenner Dunlop.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned based on business needs.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
What You'll Need
High school diploma or GED required.
Previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing or service environment.
Experience supervising employees, including organization, planning, training, performance evaluations, and corrective action.
Comprehensive knowledge of belt shop operations, cleaner application practices, or related conveyor service practices and techniques.
Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to effectively manage and develop a team.
Ability to foster a positive, collaborative team environment.
Strong understanding of safety and quality regulations.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with machine operations and hand tools.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other applicable computer programs.
Experience with ERP systems, including E9 and E11, preferred.
Experience with inventory, purchasing, logistics, or material coordination preferred.
Experience with 5S and continuous improvement practices preferred.
Forklift and/or pallet jack experience preferred.
MSHA certification or experience working in mining environments preferred.
