Beverage Industry - Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for helping with and performing maintenance duties on equipment and facilities.  This individual must demonstrate knowledge to troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment and demonstrate skills in at least three (3) of the Mechanical Doctrines including Mechanical, Plumbing, Carpentry, Metal Working, Electrical and Pneumatics. This individual is also responsible for preventive maintenance assignments to keep the equipment maintained properly.  Maintenance Technician I must also be familiar with hand and power tools and how to use them safely. 

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for preventive maintenance assignments to keep the equipment maintained properly. 
  
  
  • Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, Mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting of packaging and production equipment.
  
  
  • Self-starter and can work with little supervision. 
  
  
  • Diagnose problems, replace and/or repair parts, and make adjustments.
  
  
  • Computer skills are needed to navigate and enter data from work orders.
  
  
  • Comply with all safety rules and keep work area clean and orderly.
  
  
  • Ability to read schematics and operating manuals to repair and maintain equipment.
  
  
  • Perform general Facility Maintenance as required.  This could include carpentry, concrete, electrical, or plumbing skills.
  
  
  • Maintain a high level of accountability and integrity throughout the department.
  
  
  
  

Requirements

• Repetitive lifting and be able to lift 50 lbs.


• Maintain complete, accurate written records. Must possess an Industrial


• Maintenance Certification or equivalent work experience.


• 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing facility or in an Industrial Maintenance role. 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This position is a full-time hourly position.  Maintenance staff are usually scheduled 6 days a week.  Hours of work are to be determined depending on business conditions.  Flexibility is required for this position. Occasional over time work may be required as job duties demand.

Work Environment

This job operates in a fast-paced manufacturing facility. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is near moving mechanical parts and in high precarious places and is exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.

Hours

• The role may begin on the current schedule and will eventually transition to an assigned shift of either 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM or 8:00 PM – 4:00 AM, based on business needs.

Salary

• $20.00 - $21.00 per hour based on experience.
