Job Description - Bilingual Children's and Teen's Service Specialist (English / Spanish)
English and Spanish Speaking Youth Service Specialist Danbury, CT and Torrington, CT Full-time, Salary $44,290
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Service Specialist has two primary roles; one as Resource Specialist connecting with service providers and maintaining a list of all community resources from each town in the catchment area and the second as Intervention Specialist facilitating cognitive-behavioral and Life Skills groups to youth. The Service Specialist works closely with the Family Advocate in helping to identify what is available in the youth’s and family’s community in order to make a meaningful connection.
Research and maintain a list of all community resources from each town within the catchment area (this includes grassroots agencies, prosocial connections, mental or medical health service, etc.)
Responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with community providers
Maintains an organized log of time in the community and connections made
Serves as a resource to Juvenile Probation Officers who may be seeking information about resources in a specific community
Facilitates all cognitive-behavioral group interventions focused on addressing the risk relevant factors identified by the risk/needs assessment. Group such as:
Girls Circle
Reasoning and Rehabilitation (R&R)
Seeking Safety Adolescent
EMPLOY which provides skills in order to seek and maintain employment
SCHEDULE & RATE OF PAY:
Monday – Friday flexible hours between 9:00am-7:00pm
Possible Saturday hours as needed and Sunday off
Majority of the time, you'll be working in the Danbury office
You'll only be working in our Torrington location as needed/ for office coverage
$44,290 salary
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Community Organizing, Human Services, Sociology or related field OR Associate's Degree (in related field) with a minimum of 2 years’ experience working with juvenile justice system and/or working with communities - Required
Required to be fluent in Spanish and English to meet the needs of the Danbury community - Required
