Since 1995, our Mission at Eligibility Consultants, Inc. (ECI) has been to assist self-pay hospital patients find the means to pay their medical bills through participation in various government assistant programs. ECI’s solutions encompass every potential self-pay patient from the lowest dollar outpatient and ER account to the most complex long-term disability.

Job Description:

The Bilingual Decision Support Worker - DS is responsible for contacting discharged patients to establish a positive partnership to obtain collateral documents necessary to complete their applications for government assistance programs.

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Maintains a large caseload with minimum or no delinquencies

• Capable of multitasking under pressure and completing tasks promptly

• Proficient at meeting deadlines and achieving individual metrics in a consisting basis

• Contacts patients and creates collaborative teamwork to obtain needed information for application advancement 

• Uses clear, simple language to ensure understanding in English and/or Spanish

• Complies with all state and federal laws regarding HIPAA and confidentiality requirements

• Able to remain focused and productive each day with minimum supervision

• Demonstrates respect for all individuals

• Adheres to ECI’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values

• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

•  High School diploma / GED (or higher)
•  Bilingual English/Spanish
•  Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel)
•  Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week Monday-Friday)
• Strong written and verbal communication skill
• Prior costumer service experience
• Experience with HHSC (Medicaid, County Indigent, TANF, SSI) a plus

Physical and Work Requirements:

•  Frequent speaking, listening using a headset, sitting, use of hands/fingers across keyboard or mouse, long periods working at a computer

Telecommuting Requirements:

• Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.
• Must be available to train 4-6 weeks at the Richardson, TX home office.
