Mackin Talent is looking for a Bill of Materials (BOM) Lead to support our client in Redmond,Wa
working with their Robotics team. As the BOM Lead on the Operations & Scaling team, you will be
the owner and steward of the Bill of Materials (BOM) for each robot prototype. You will maintain the
BOM as the single source of truth, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and real -time updates
throughout the product lifecycle. This role is highly cross -functional, requiring close partnership with
manufacturing, test, design, and reliability engineers, as well as procurement and inventory teams.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
â Maintain the Source of Truth BOM:
â Own and manage the master BOM for all robot prototypes, ensuring it is always
accurate, up -to -date, and accessible to stakeholders.
â Implement and enforce BOM change control processes including revision and
configuration control.
â Cross -Functional Collaboration:
â Partner with manufacturing, test, design, and reliability engineers to capture all
required components, revisions, and engineering changes.
â Work closely with procurement and inventory teams to ensure BOM alignment with
sourcing, lead times, and stock levels.
â Process Improvement & Documentation:
â Develop and document BOM management best practices, workflows, and standards.
â Identify and drive process improvements to increase BOM accuracy and efficiency.
â Data Integrity & Reporting:
â Ensure all BOM data is complete, consistent, and compliant with internal standards.
â Generate reports and analytics on BOM status, changes, and impacts for leadership
and project teams.
â Support Prototyping & Scaling:
â Support rapid prototyping by enabling fast, accurate BOM updates as designs
evolve.
â Prepare BOMs for transition from prototype to scaled manufacturing, including cost
roll -ups and risk assessments.
â Tooling & Systems:
â Administer and optimize BOM management tools and systems (e.g., PLM, ERP).
â Train team members and stakeholders on BOM tools and processes.
Minimum Qualifications
â Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or related field (or equivalent
experience).
â 3+ years of experience managing BOMs in a hardware, robotics, or manufacturing
environment.
â Strong experience with PLM/ERP systems and BOM management tools.
â Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
â Proven ability to work cross -functionally in a fast -paced, iterative environment.
Preferred Qualifications
â Experience in robotics, consumer electronics, or complex electromechanical systems.
â Familiarity with rapid prototyping and scaling hardware products.
â Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
