SPAN, Inc., a nonprofit organization serving Denton County, is seeking passionate, community-minded professionals and leaders to join our Board of Directors.

Through our Meals on Wheels and transportation programs, we help older adults, veterans, individuals with disabilities, and community members maintain their independence, access essential services, and remain connected to their communities.

We are looking for individuals who believe in our mission and want to contribute their expertise, leadership, and community connections to help our organization grow and thrive.

About the Opportunity

As a volunteer member of our Board of Directors, you will play an important role in guiding SPAN's strategic direction, supporting its long-term sustainability, and helping expand our impact throughout Denton County.

Board members serve as advocates, ambassadors, and strategic partners, working collaboratively with organizational leadership to advance our mission.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic guidance and governance oversight.
• Support SPAN's mission, vision, and long-term organizational goals.
• Participate in board meetings, committee activities, and strategic planning.
• Serve as an ambassador by building relationships with community leaders, businesses, and potential supporters.
• Support fundraising, donor engagement, and resource development initiatives.
• Help identify opportunities for partnerships, innovation, and service expansion.
• Promote financial stewardship, transparency, and organizational accountability.

Who We're Looking For

We welcome individuals from diverse professional backgrounds who bring fresh perspectives, strong leadership skills, and a genuine commitment to community service.

We are particularly interested in individuals with experience in:

• Finance and Accounting: Financial oversight, budgeting, investment management, or nonprofit financial stewardship.
• Fundraising and Philanthropy: Donor development, corporate sponsorships, grantmaking, and community engagement.
• Business and Corporate Leadership: Strategic planning, organizational growth, and executive leadership.
• Legal and Governance: Nonprofit governance, compliance, risk management, and legal expertise.
• Healthcare and Aging Services: Healthcare administration, senior services, disability services, and community health.
• Marketing and Public Relations: Brand development, communications, community outreach, and public awareness.
• Transportation and Logistics: Transportation operations, mobility solutions, and service delivery.

Prior nonprofit board experience is welcome but not required. We value individuals who are collaborative, engaged, forward-thinking, and eager to make a meaningful contribution.
