In this role, you lead the Broadband Engineering team and help ensure our fiber network is safe, reliable, and built to support the future. Your day blends leadership, planning, and hands-on technical oversight.
Leading and developing your team: You’ll coach, support, and guide the broadband engineering team while building a strong, collaborative, and safety-focused environment.
Driving strategy and planning: You’ll help execute department goals, evaluate new technologies, and contribute to budget and long-term planning efforts.
Overseeing network performance: You’ll monitor broadband systems, coordinate upgrades and repairs, and ensure work meets safety and quality standards.
Providing technical leadership: You’ll act as a key resource for the team, supporting engineering design, troubleshooting, and decision-making.
Collaborating across teams: You’ll work with Operations, Information Technology, and other departments to keep systems integrated and running smoothly.
Supporting member and community awareness: You may help present information about fiber services and participate in member engagement efforts.
No two days are exactly the same, but your impact is consistent: supporting your team and ensuring ECE’s broadband network performs at a high level.
Education & Experience: A two-year technical degree and experience in a telecommunications environment supporting fiber networks, plus five years of related experience, or a combination of education and experience.
Credentials: Valid driver’s license required. JNCIA-Junos, JNCIS-SEC, and JNCIS-SP preferred.
Skills: Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to guide a team, build relationships, and manage priorities. You’re comfortable working with technical systems, solving problems, and keeping work moving forward. You bring a solid understanding of fiber networks and broadband systems, along with a willingness to keep learning and improving.
Schedule: Onsite, Monday through Friday, at ECE’s Operations North building in Braham, MN.
Hybrid Option: This position does not offer a hybrid work arrangement.
