ShortList is looking for a Business Analyst to join the Business Intelligence team of an established organization in Columbia, SC. The Business Analyst will act as the bridge between stakeholders and the BI team, owning requirements, scope, and project intake across the organization.

This role would suit someone with 3-7 years of business analysis experience who is comfortable managing technology projects. The role is on-site in Columbia, SC.

Key Responsibilities for the Business Analyst role:

• Lead discovery calls and requirements-gathering sessions with stakeholders
  


• Define project scope, deliverables, success criteria, and acceptance criteria
  


• Translate business needs into clear specifications for the BI team
  


• Serve as the primary intake point for project requests into the BI function
  


• Coordinate project tracking, risks, and facilitate status updates
  


• Validate delivered work against documented requirements before sign-off
  

Key skills for the Business Analyst role:

• Degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  


• 3-7 years of Business Analysis experience
  


• Ability to translate between technical and business audiences
  


• Conceptual familiarity with Power BI, Power Apps, and SQL-based reporting
  


• Experience with work tracking tools such as Jira, Asana, or Azure DevOps
  


• CBAP, CSPO, PMP, or CAPM certification a plus
  

This Business Analyst role is ideal for someone looking to step into a hybrid BA / Project Manager seat, shaping Project processes from the ground up with exposure to Data Engineering, Power Platform, and AI/ML projects.
