Business Central Functional Consultant

Position Summary

Reporting to the ERP Systems Lead, the Microsoft Dynamics Business Central Functional Associate plays a key role in day-to-day IT operations and new system implementation projects. Located on-site at the corporate headquarters in Irving, TX, this role partners with multi-site divisions across North America to support aggressive business growth and technology targets.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (or NAV), with a strong focus on Accounting, Finance, and Warehouse Management System (WMS) modules. This position serves as a primary operational contact, collaborating cross-functionally to optimize ERP usage, resolve functional issues, and drive continuous process improvements across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• User Support & Operations: Serve as the primary point of contact for day-to-day operational support and issue resolution across accounting, finance, inventory, and warehousing workflows in Business Central.

• System Configuration & Maintenance: Configure, maintain, and optimize Business Central core modules—specifically Finance, Inventory, and Warehouse Management—while assisting with system upgrades, patches, and data integrity checks.

• Process Enhancement & Collaboration: Gather business requirements from cross-functional teams, translate them into functional specifications, conduct end-user training, and create comprehensive documentation to ensure compliance and best practices.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Core Experience: Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience as a Functional Consultant or Associate working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or NAV (including on-premises environments).

• Module Expertise: Deep functional knowledge of Accounting/Finance modules (GL, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Bank Reconciliation) and native warehousing functionality (bins, picks, put-aways, shipments).

• Technical & Interpersonal Skills: Proven ability to troubleshoot functional ERP issues quickly, along with strong cross-functional communication and user-support capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing or supporting third-party WMS integrations.

• Working knowledge of broader manufacturing, distribution, or supply chain operational processes.

• Demonstrated track record of supporting end-users through business growth and system enhancement initiatives.
