Business Development & Procurement Support Specialist - Lake Mary, FL

American Premier Services is seeking a detail-oriented, proactive Business Development & Procurement Support Specialist to help expand our pipeline of construction and environmental compliance opportunities. This role combines opportunity sourcing, vendor and subcontractor registration management, and early-stage sales operations support. This role is designed for a self-directed professional who can independently research and qualify opportunities, manage government and commercial vendor registrations, maintain procurement-platform access, and provide early-stage sales and proposal support.

Job Duties

1. Research and identify business development opportunities across construction, environmental compliance, site services, safety, inspections, specialty subcontracting, and related service areas.
2. Monitor procurement sources for new opportunities and prequalification requests.
3. Review and analyze solicitations, RFQs, RFPs, IFBs, notices of intent, vendor outreach notices, and subcontractor opportunities to identify scope, deadlines, submission requirements, qualifications, and potential risks.
4. Evaluate potential opportunities based on company capabilities and overall pursuit considerations.
5. Prepare concise opportunity and bid/pursuit summaries outlining project scope, deadlines, requirements, key contacts, risks, registration needs, and recommend next steps for leadership and internal stakeholders.
6. Maintain an accurate and current opportunity pipeline within the company CRM including contacts and pursuit status.
7. Conduct preliminary research on target clients and organizations, including government agencies, general contractors, owners, developers, project teams, procurement personnel, and other relevant decision-makers.
8. Coordinate internal follow-up and pursuit activities with leadership and other applicable departments to ensure timely responses and accurate information.
9. Manage the company's SAM.gov registration and profile by monitoring renewals, validations, entity information, points of contact, representations, certifications, and other requirements necessary to maintain federal procurement eligibility.
10. Manage registrations and profile maintenance across all applicable platforms to ensure accounts remain active and procurement-ready.
11. Administer vendor, supplier, subcontractor, and prequalification registrations for general contractors, owners, developers, utilities, industrial clients, institutions, and public agencies, including platforms such as BuildingConnected, ConstructConnect, PlanHub, Bonfire, BidNet, ISNetworld, Avetta, and similar systems.
12. Maintain organized and secure records of procurement accounts and registrations, including credentials and key contacts.
13. Coordinate the collection, organization, and submission of qualification and compliance documentation, including insurance certificates, project references, resumes, and service descriptions.
14. Monitor registration and prequalification requirements to identify gaps or other issues that could prevent the company from pursuing an opportunity and promptly escalate concerns.
15. Maintain a comprehensive procurement-readiness calendar and tracking system for registrations, renewals, annual certifications, insurance updates, tax forms, licenses, subscriptions, and other required documentation.
16. Develop and maintain company capability statements and sales collateral for government agencies and other target audiences.
17. Support preparation of prequalification packages, qualification responses, proposal-support materials, compliance forms, bid/no-bid summaries, introductory packages, and early-stage solicitation responses.
18. Draft and coordinate professional business-development communications including company introductions and requests for additional opportunity or qualification information.
19. Develop and maintain business-development systems, reports, dashboards, calendars, and document libraries that provide leadership with visibility into opportunities, registrations, prequalifications, deadlines, account status, sales materials, and overall business-development readiness.

Education and Experience

1. Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, construction management, public administration, environmental studies, communications, or a related field; equivalent relevant professional experience will be considered.
2. 3+ years of experience in business development support, procurement coordination, government contracting, construction administration, vendor management, proposal coordination, sales operations, or a related field.
3. Demonstrated familiarity with SAM.gov and experience navigating online procurement portals.
4. Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to identify, evaluate, organize, track, and summarize relevant business and procurement opportunities.
5. Ability to independently prioritize competing responsibilities and maintain accurate records with limited day-to-day supervision.
6. Excellent written communication skills with the ability to develop polished capability statements, qualification packages, opportunity summaries, proposals, correspondence, and other business-development materials.
7. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Experience with a construction contractor, specialty subcontractor, environmental consulting, or remediation firm, industrial-services business, public-works contractor, or similar service provider, including experience pursuing opportunities with public-sector entities. 
2. Familiarity with construction prequalification processes and government certifications.
3. Experience using construction and procurement platforms such as BuildingConnected, ConstructConnect, PlanHub, Bonfire, or ISNetworld; CRM systems such as HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoho, or Microsoft Dynamics; and supporting RFQs, RFPs, ITBs, qualifications packages, government solicitations, or subcontractor-bid opportunities.
