Business Loan Specialist

This position will office out of our Hudson, River Falls, or Menomonie location. Training for this position will require the applicant to be onsite. Once fully trained, there is an opportunity for a hybrid work arrangement.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Prepares and reviews loan documentation for all types of business loans, renewals, and amendments according to business loan policies and procedures


• Reviews credit presentations to assure that the credit has been presented to all the proper approval authorities, and addresses items identified as requiring further action to properly document the loan


• Utilizes core system and other department software in an accurate manner to prepare, build, review, and maintain business loans including release of collateral


• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective Members through respective Business Loan Officer Teams


• Participate in overall credit/risk management, portfolio management, and servicing of assigned portfolio, including but not limited to loan renewals, annual reviews, and additional lending requests


• Ensures compliance with lending policies and procedures


• Actively collaborates with other WESTconsin Team Members to help meet Members' specific commercial lending, commercial real estate lending, business lending, and deposit and cash management needs through referral efforts and member relationship building


• Identifies options, evaluates solutions, anticipates concerns, addresses issues professionally, influences others constructively, and works collaboratively across departments to support Member needs and organizational goals


• Responds to internal and external member questions, concerns, and complaints


• Reviews paid loans and processes requests to release collateral as necessary


• Assists Business Loan Officers to operate in compliance with laws and regulations and adhere to lending compliance requirements

What You’ll Need to Be Successful:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or equivalent experience preferred


• 1 years of related specialized training and/or lending experience required


• Thorough knowledge of lending regulations and credit/underwriting, and commercial loan document practices


• Notary required
