The Buyer for Installed Base America (IB-A) drives purchasing for cross-functional operations and major projects. In this role, you will specifically manage the procurement of essential goods and services required for outage-related business and standard IB-A field operations.

What You’ll Do Day-To-Day






  • Ensure that project procurement requirements are understood and that procured products and services meet lead-time, price and quality requirements.
  • Review and approve purchases up to a specified dollar amount.
  • Develop and enhance mutually beneficial supply chain relationships to ensure timely and competitive quotes.
  • Engage and coordinate with line managers to implement appropriate commodity/supply strategies.
  • Participate as member of Cross Functional Teams (CFT) in supplier relationship activities such as selection, rationalization, development, performance measurement and recognition.
  • Perform spend and commodity analysis; assist with development of contract negotiation strategies.
  • Input and maintain relevant data in Purchasing information systems.
  • Gather and report metrics to assess effectiveness of procurement operations.
  • Continue to develop business acumen, influencing skills and customer service with colleagues and customers.








What You'll Bring






  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.
  • CPM certification is preferred.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes and roles.
  • Knowledge of inventory control, lead times, and demand planning.
  • Ability to generate and manage purchase orders, vendor records, and reports.
  • Good communication skills to comprehend, follow direction and convey detailed data.
  • Ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships; work collaboratively within a team environment.

Preferred Skills: 

  • Knowledge of supply chain management field, practices, and methods.                     
  • Preferred 3+ years of experience with procurement of products and services or supplier related interfaces.                            
  • Required 2+ years of commodity management experience.                            
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and experience handling procurement plan development, negotiations, and contract management.                            
  • Preferred 1+ years of experience with SAP enterprise system.    








Total Rewards Package






Total Rewards Package         

  • Salary: $66,000-$86,000 and may also include annual incentives and performance bonuses. The base salary range is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
