Buyer II

Hotstart has an opening for a Purchasing Agent (Buyer II). The successful candidate excels as part of a team and is motivated to support Hotstart’s production goals by managing material supply. The ideal candidate will work closely with suppliers, engineers, planning, and production departments to determine appropriate methods of procurement and solve current and potential material constraints.

Key responsibilities include:

•Place, confirm, and adjust purchase orders based on current production plan.

•Review and process requisitions in a timely manner and in accord with established procurement policy and procedures.

•Evaluate inventory levels for products and supplies and monitor trends to determine order points and buy quantities.

•Follow up on back orders, apply proper expediting techniques, and make special arrangements to ensure on-time delivery of required materials.

•Resolve supplier performance and supply chain issues related to quality, delivery, and pricing.

•Where possible, work to identify opportunities to reduce costs and increase supply chain efficiency

Requirements:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to multi-task and handle multiple requests/projects in a fast-paced environment.

•3+ years relevant work experience required, experience in a technical or manufacturing environment preferred.

• Working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Office required, experience working within an MRP/ERP system preferred.

• Bachelor’s degree or other certification desirable.
