Come be a part of our mission!\n\nWe are looking for you to join our team as a Cable Engineer/Principal Cable Engineer Technical Services based out of McClellan, CA.\n\nWhat you\u0027ll get to do:\n\nAs an Engineer Technical Services, you will provide technical advice and guidance on installation, adaptation, configuration or enhancement of company cable \u0026 harness products, programs and systems. You will provide expertise for resolving cable \u0026 harness problems, troubleshoot product and modify product to customer requirements. Work may be done at customer site. Includes software systems and programs designed for customers (corporate and individual) and government entities.\n\n * Apply electrical, electronic and mechanical principles to cable \u0026 harness components and systems, including assembly, analysis, and documentation of results; construction of developmental assemblies, sub-assemblies and components; and quality testing.\n\n * Support 3D cable routing, Wiring Diagrams, and Interconnect Diagrams.\n\n * Support and participate in the design, test, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems.\n\n * Package CCAs and electronic modules for qualified use in demanding airborne environments\n\n * Identify and synthesize requirements using a system engineering approach to provide novel solutions\n\n * Incorporate design for manufacturing principles to drive down product costs and assembly time\n\n * Provide engineering oversight during prototype and production hardware assembly \u0026 test\n\n * Develop preliminary and critical design review content for peer and customer presentations\n\n * Create technical data packages including fabrication, source control, and assembly drawings\n\n * Employ strong interpersonal and communication skills while operating within an integrated product team\n\n * Promote knowledge transfer within the organization by sharing of lessons learned and best practices\n\n * Provide as needed engineering support to material review boards and failure review boards\n\n * Work with agility and minimal direction to complete program tasks on-time; failure to obtain results or erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in serious program delays and considerable expenditure of resources\n\n\n\n\nBasic Qualifications for Cable Engineer Technical Services:\n\n * Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in science, engineering, or related discipline with 2 years of experience; or 0 years of relevant experience with a Masters (MS) degree\n\n * An additional 4 years of relevant experience/education can be considered in lieu of a Bachelor of Science Degree\n\n * Demonstrated experience with cable / harness design, routing and documentation\n\n * Demonstrated 2D and 3D Cable Routing and Design experience with CAD packages, Cable Routing using Siemens Capital or may consider similar packages\n\n * Must be a US Citizen\n\n * Must be able to obtain and maintain Top Secret/SCI (access) security clearance\n\n\n\n\nBasic Qualifications for Principal Cable Engineer Technical Services:\n\n * Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in science, engineering, or related discipline with 5 years of experience; or 3 years of relevant experience with a Masters (MS) degree\n\n * An additional 4 years of relevant experience/education can be considered in lieu of a Bachelor of Science Degree\n\n * Demonstrated experience with cable / harness design, routing and documentation\n\n * Demonstrated 2D and 3D Cable Routing and Design experience with CAD packages, Cable Routing using Siemens Capital or may consider similar packages\n\n * Must be a US Citizen\n\n * Must be able to obtain and maintain Top Secret/SCI (access) security clearance\n\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * Experience with PTC Cabling, Solidworks, Siemens NX,\n\n * Degree in Mechanical Engineering\n\n * Experience with electromechanical or electronics cable design for airborne/military applications (may consider candidates with similar industry experience)\n\n * Experience in CAD Design packages, PTC Cabling, Solidworks Cable Routing, and Siemens NX/Siemens Capital\n\n * Diverse product development experience in flight qualified electronics packaging design\n\n * Proficiency with a PLM for releasing documentation\n\n * Familiarity with ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing\n\n * Exceptional attention to detail, self-motivation, and self-regulation\n\n\n\n\nWhat We Can Offer You: \nNorthrop Grumman provides a comprehensive benefits package and a work environment which encourages your growth and supports the mutual success of our people and our company.
