Job Description - Cafe Manager

Chocolate Fish Coffee Roasters is an Award-Winning Specialty Coffee Roaster with retail cafes in Sacramento and Folsom, CA. We are looking for a manager for our busy coffee house/ café set in a bustling neighborhood catering to people of all ages.  This role is 80% on the floor working with your team, 20% inventory, paper work, and administrative duties.

CFCR has been making coffee in Sacramento since 2008. Our coffees have won in international competitions and our baristas have competed and placed at national levels. We are a locally owned and operated company fully immersed in the community who concentrates on serving the highest quality Specialty coffee to our customers.

CFCR has relationships with coffee producers that allows us access to the very best tasting coffee, micro lots and exclusive coffee lots for our customers.

As a CFCR Manager you will be looked to for answers, advice, and encouragement. This role is all about developing a great team and leading by example.

Responsibilities include

  • To uphold the CFCR culture thru our Core Purpose and Values
  • Develop your team, encourage, and bring each one up the ladder to success
  • Product knowledge
  • CFCR policies and procedures
  • Inventory Control
  • Staff Scheduling
  • Staff development, recruiting, hiring and ongoing training
  • Budgeting and daily cash flow control
  • Customer Service
  • Quality Assurance
  • Equipment Maintenance & Cleaning
  • Working with a management team to ensure consistency with other CFCR Cafes
  • Running the day to day operations smoothly
  • Must be on call, available to cover call outs in your cafe and to address emergencies/concerns of the cafe.

Requirements

  • Restaurant/ Café management experience
  • Open availability
  • Computer competencies including google docs, excel apps, smart phone
  • Experience in customer service, dealing directly with the public
  • Experience with staff concerns, HR management
  • Great attitude toward life
  • Specialty Coffee knowledge/ experience
  • Multi tasking skills
  • Ability to make decisions and problem solve
  • A go getter, one who wants to contribute to a growing company

Job Type & other info:

  • Full-time 40 hrs per week
  • Pay: $27.00 - $30.00 per hour
  • 2 weeks paid vacation
  • 40 hrs sick time
